OMNIMEDIA PRODUCT INFORMATION
The Treasure Hunt:
============
Release date:
Out now
Price:
ú29.95 / $39.99
Details:
The Treasure Hunt is an interactive children's story with a puzzle to be solved at the end of
each chapter. It tells the story of a crew of pirate mice, who find a secret map, and go off
to find the buried treasure. The child's job is to help them find the buried treasure by
completing the puzzles and games.
For the parent, this is the ideal story to read with the child, as well being a story which
will keep children entertained for hours. One can confidently let the child play with a
non-violent, non-threatening, stimulating CD-ROM. The original water-colour graphics have
been painstakingly recreated on computer, and a group of children can happily play with
The Treasure Hunt at the same time.
For younger children, there is the "bedtime story" mode, which will gently lull the child
to sleep.
REVIEWS:
Electronic Entertainment (USA):
"Searching for hidden treasure has always had its attractions, but it's even more fun with
help from a shipful of mice... Based on the book of the same name by Amanda Wood,
The Treasure Hunt is a delicately illustrated interactive storybook for afes 4 to 9.
Treasure Hunt's activities run from visual identification to an electronic colouring game,
all designed to build cognitive, memory and comparison skills. Impatient types can skip
the story all together and go straight to the games. With its beautiful watercolours
enlivened with clever animation, it's difficult to say who will return to the Treasure Hunt
more often, you or your child."
Four Stars
Times Educational Supplement:
"The freshness, style and sense of enchantment of Living Books is also present in Treasure Hunt.
The narrative, sounds and graphics are well-produced, it is simple to use, and there is an
innovative bedtime story facility. OmniMedia's first "book" and its plans for a new title
next year should give Living Books a good run for their money."
MacUser:

"Gorgeously illustratedα there's music to accompany the story, {which} sounded wonderful on
my 660AVα The story and the graphics provide plenty to talk about and the puzzles are a good
opportunity for some joint problem-solving with your child. I found it great fun to play with.
Gorgeous graphicsα perplexing puzzlesα Educational value: certainly worth adding to your
collection."
